In the Darling Range tonight right now its 6.52pm and raining heavily, I am enjoying listening to the rain falling on the tin roof while watching the flames flickering dance in the mexican cheminea. Such a perfect night it is. The rain God is doing its thing and I am happy.....With a huge smile Kisha.
We are in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, in England. Henry VIII lived here during the black plague. It is overcast, threatening rain, and fairly cold. We are bracing for a couple of months of English winter before we head home to Victoria. The winters here are bloody freezing. It gets dark about three in the afternoon, which is very weird. You never see a cloudless sky. The summers are mild and wet.
things we love, the changing colours of the trees season to season. Winter nights by the fire in old pubs with low ceilings. Bluebells in the woods at springtime.
4.00pm 11/10/17. Finally after threats of rain it's started. It can rain all night now as it will help the garden and water tanks where I am house sitting near Bacchus Marsh, just east of Ballarat VIC. The predicted storms can stay away though.

I left the FNQ (Townsville) yesterday for South due to weather and thought I would be clever and skip around the problem areas by heading inland to Charters Towers, Clermont and Emerald. However after heading further south the rain managed to catch-up at Rolleston and by Biloela it was bucketing down relentlessly. However that was not the worst of it as the Catchfish Creek bridge, just 55 km west of Gladstone, had risen so high the authorities closed the road until further notice.
So I doubled back to a place called 'BANANNA" and headed south via the LEICHARDT HWY to come east again near Miles. Both the BOYNE and the Calliope rives are on 'Major flood alert.' It was dark by this and I had to be mindful of every Floodway & River crossings I came across when finally I came across a bush camp o/n at the Dawson River along with fifteen other water soaked travellers. Sooooo happy to see fellow travellers and we swapped many stories before bed ... Gwynnie

The Weather up the West Coast has been great for the last 4 days, clear Blue skies and a pleasant temp of the the mid 20's,
Today we sit in Kalbarri, ( app 150k North of Geraldton )looking at the river and the ocean,
starting to get windy now, rough enough to stop the Fishing Boats from crossing the bar,
We managed to get a feed of fresh Snapper from the fish truck parked on the wharf, his supply is getting pretty low, so he's hoping the wind will drop real soon.
Travelling on in 4 days, destination unknown.

The current set-up over Western Australia is bringing hot, dry and windy conditions, leading to elevated fire danger over a large proportion of the state.
Fire danger ratings are very high for much of the northwest and interior with parts of the Pilbara at severe. At this stage no total fire bans are current.
Some of this heat will also filter down the west coast ahead of a trough over the next few days, when Perth can expect a run of around 4 days exceeding 30 degrees. A slight respite isn't too far away, however, as winds should turn more southerly late on Wednesday, bringing slightly cooler temperatures.
We hope !!!

Hi K.J. Weather here in the Bathurst Highlands is wet...blowey and cold....Visiting friends on a farm near Isabella and the paddocks here are lush and green... had to pull out the woolies and touch up the fire place!! We had some hail here early morning which left the roadsides looking like a winter wonderland. Gwynnie
Sounds very hot and dry in the old WA..... Yes I am indeed very lucky being in the neck of the woods. Sorry but hope you can stand a few more beautiful photos
Severe weather season is definitely in full swing as every state proves likely to see a thunderstorm fire up in the next week.
Currently, lightning and thunder is continuing for interior parts of WA, NT and SA as tropical moisture is sucked south by a broad region of low pressure. This region will keep seeing storms at least through until the middle of next week, extending to the Top End. Darwin has a good chance of getting hit by a storm sometime from early afternoon today, picking up similar totals to yesterday's storms (about 5mm at a time).

Here at Oberon NSW I am experiencing another perfect sunset over the top paddock...The cloud range across the horizon promises only a few rain drops over night so I am told..... Gwynnie
Localised flooding is possible across much of South Australia
A low pressure trough is expected to deepen as it moves across the state from Thursday to Saturday. This will result in the development of widespread thunderstorms and periods of heavy rain across a broad area from the Eastern Eyre Peninsula stretching across the Flinders, south of the North East Pastoral, Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, Adelaide and the Mount Lofty Ranges, Riverland and Murraylands.
Daily falls of around 50 mm are possible. Rainfall totals between Thursday to Saturday may reach 100 mm.
From later Thursday to Saturday areas of local flooding and water level rises in rivers and creeks are likely in the catchments covered by this flood watch.
