The ability to test for signs of Alzheimer's disease decades earlier could be a step closer with a new blood test set for clinical trials within months.
Laboratory test "pTau217" is thought to give results in as little as 18 minutes and can detect changes in the brain decades before someone might develop symptoms.

Good points. After my experience as a full-time carer, I decided that I would not want anyone to care for me when I become infirm, nor do I want to go into aged care. I also want to be in a position to take advantage of assisted dying, so retaining my mental faculties would be paramount.
