A subjective survey taken on my 20km commute this morning I saw a stack of drivers running red lights, speeding, dangerous merging, tailgating or driving in the dark without headlights and/or tail lights and I reckon they were all either Tradies or P platers.

Really a better survey would have been, who are the bigger danger on the road.

Whilst I understand your skepticism about the ABC, the survey is nothing to do with them. It was from a study of nearly 400,000 accident claims from Jan to Dec 2025 by AAMI. It surprised me. Will under 25s and over 65s premiums be revisited? Who knows. Insurance is run by actuaries. They will be salivating at these numbers. Check it yourself. https://www.suncorpgroup.com.au/news/news/aami-crash-index-2026

& those not born on Feb 29 are having 4 times as many accidents so we put the premium up!
