The sealant that was used under my Dometic aircon was very fluid.
It actually ran onto the floor when I removed the inside sections.
There must be a reason for this. Talk to an aircon supplier.

I actually called the local caravan repair/installer and he says he does at least one and day and uses roof and gutter silicone. Im sure he knows what hes doing, but it didnt seem right to me, which is why I asked. Cheers
Silicone is banned from my vehicle.
Once it is on a surface, it is extremely difficult to remove and nothing else will stick there.
It will collect dirt, but is not paintable.
Caravan repairers like it because it is cheap and it works.
Cheers,
Peter
I ALWAYS contact Sikaflex technical for products to suit my projects. They are extremely helpful. Common questions they ask are what is the construction of the part you intend to adhere/seal ie ABS etc and what is the surface you intend to place it on ie fibreglass etc., will it need to be fixed permanently requiring mechanical removal or do want to remove it relatively easily if necessary in the future.
i usually email their tech dept and on occasion they have called me. Very informative.
