My recommendation would be to say at one of the camping places outside of Alice. If you have wiki-camps you will find them on there, just fuel up at Alice and keep going

What caravan park did you stay in to give such a negative report?

A few years ago now (2017) but we stayed at Temple Bar Caravan Park at Ilparpa, about 15km out of Alice Springs, and loved it.Beautiful backdrop of the West MacDonnell ranges and did all our touring of the region from there.

We stayed in Discovery Parks on Palm ct. nice park with no issues for us. Yes I would stay there again but not planning on a return soon.

The two CPs about 10km to the west of Alice - Temple Bar and Wanngardi - are both nice bush CPs with great views, if you're really concerned. Just over the hill from Pine Gap. We had a brief stay at Wanngardi. But there's nothing wrong with the CPs in town mentioned above, as the Wikicamps reviews attest. We have stayed at G'Day Mate four times over the past couple of years with no issues whatsoever.
