The current Chinese Utes seem to have cornered the market on ugly, this MG U9 Ute lives up to that standard, As the saying goes a face only a mother could love.
Does it have those poncey new indicators some late model vehicles now have.
Some of them are simply not practical, particularly those smallish wrap around types.
I have nearly been caught out a few times with those tiny or wrap around front indicators not being noticeable enough to give warning of direction.
The front of that ute loos like it is a good roo and insect collector.....
Every vehicle built during the past 15 years looks like it has been chiselled out of stone. As for ugly, there's Musk's Cybertruck. If you go back enough years, there was Citroen's Ami. You can't beat that for ugly. In fact, all Citroens of that era looked like ****roaches.

I worked for a US based company in Rochester NY. In a meeting with their design group, I politely asked why their products were so bland in aesthetics.
Their answer was, and they were not joking was they only did shapes that could be cut out on a band saw.
I can't think of any "good looking" ute on the market, now or in the recent past. I own a Ranger, never considered them or the competion attractive. They do a job.
The more recent move to blunt (and dangerous) "US" style looks is something to regret, but the biggest marketing failure has to be the looks of the Kia Tasman. They must be kicking themselves (and the designer) with the sales numbers being what they are. Pity, apart from being underpowered it appears to be a decent vehicle. I'd agree the MG is a close contender and the old Ssanyong ute was a horror show (the new one is simply standard ute ugly).
Can anyone point to what they think is a "good looking" ute?
Was working out at the golf club volunteering a few days ago.
One of the locals pulled up in one of those big flash black Ford utes.
He told us there are 15 recalls on that model!!!!
Also, another mate recently had to get rid of a brand new RAM ute, it just didn't go.
Last time he saw it the engine was in pieces and poor prospects apparently.
Makes you really wonder about these new "trucks" on the market.
I have had my little Isuzu single cab with canopy on back for three years now and no issues so far.
That car is like the girl you see down the football grounds, and as you walk towards her you may find reasons to not walk any closer... Would I be bothered about beefing up that grille with a big plastic bar... It's one of those cars that you should enjoy driving so you don't have to look at it... But the extras that are with this car make life just that more comfortable for me now .. As I am currently in the market for a replacement for my thirty two year old Nissan Patrol .. Biggest problem that I have found is that gearsticks have been replaced with touch buttons and onboard computers .. Now that catches more bugs on the windscreen and headlamps as a Mack truck.. (or it seems that way when i'm cleaning them) ...
