I tend to disagree; whilst there have been some argumentative types - that can be ignored by most of us. Mind you we're all getting older and a little less tolerant of them.
We should be old enough to recognise when we are being deliberately "baited" and just ignore the poor unfortunates that have nothing else to do than antagonise.
Competing interests, travelling, illnesses, lack of new caravaning/nomad topics, etc. are all to "blame" for apparent lack of participation.

The trouble is that there is a right-wing clique who think they own the place, and who believe that their view of the world is the correct, majority view. They consider that any contrary opinion is an irritation, and anyone who expresses such an opinion is "targeting" their clique.

Sometimes if one expresses a opinion they where they have a field of experience or knowledge, you can be almost guaranteed some nark will call it into question, doubt your comments or call you a liar or some other degrading comment.
It is almost worth unsubscribing sometimes....

Try being a climate scientist, ie someone with "a field of experience and knowledge", in a place full of "narks".

You defame a good and respected man with a long career behind him but you have no supporting evidence except your opinion and then you complain when your opinion is questioned.
Interesting to note, most of the comments in this thread talk about the negative people etc. but I havent seen many real constructive comments about whether people are going to other sites or use fb groups etc. so maybe the commentary in general in this thread is what we get , comments not hitting the mark and straying away from the actual subject.
