Calling Fiamma F45 awning owners - have you had problems?

G'day all

This post is exclusively about Fiamma F45-s awnings ... no other brands or designs are involved in this discussion, and views on other brands and designs are =not= wanted

My Fiamma F45-i worked wonderfully for 22-yrs until it met an unexpected and untimely death via a timber power pole planted very close to the gutter

The replacement F45-s has broken only 3-weeks after installation, and the AU importer has rejected a warranty claim, stating that the awning is a 'sunshade' and should be retracted when winds are experienced

My old awning catered for all sorts of wind gusts, it "rocked and rolled" with the wind and the spring-loaded shock absorbers in the housing did their job and returned the awning to its pre-set position every time.

Question--
If you have a Fiamma F45 awning, has it broken / failed in some way?
If so, has the AU importer accepted or rejected any warranty claims from you?

Please respond to my email address with your answers so that this forum post does not become a bunfight from trolls and armchair experts, and potentially subject to legal threats

I had a Fiamma F45S on my previous motorhome. The brackets cracked out of warranty and I replaced it with another brand. I considered it flimsy. In your case, dont muck around, lodge a complaint with Fair Trading in your state.

My M/H has had the same awning Fiamma F45i I believe. (sticker long gone) installed in 2008. The rod for the winding in mechanism had to be replaced some time in 2112. I think it was mostly due to operator error. Other than that I have had no problems. Still looks good bar a tiny hole from winding up a palm branch. Accidents will happen when winding in due to a storm coming.
