Hi Bertie. Usually in a place that is difficult to find, Mine is located above the axle next to the water pump in a cupboard on the floor. Some are under the bed but usually they are not to far away from the brakes.

It is probably housed inside the casing for the breakaway device.

For example, here is a common one.

Breaksafe 6000

It is possible yours uses the main caravan battery, although less common.

Some brands don't have a separate battery and are wired to the van batteries.

I have the Breaksafe 6000 and it is located at the bottom of a floor cabinet under the kitchen sink.

It has a removable 7A battery inside the casing and is connected to the house batteries for trickle charging.

A green led on housing indicates charged battery. To test system disconnect plug from Breaksafe switch on drawbar, the brakes will apply and van brake lights will illuminate.
