ChatGPT Fun

Feeling a little bit lonely?  Need someone to talk to?   Try ChatGPT.

Just spent half an hour or so talking about using/buying/plastic cups.  What I could import or not.

What the difference was between "banned" and illegal. (No clear answer)  Came down to Federal Government sets recommendations and the States and Territories get to make laws and enforce them.  Gives the Federal Government "plausible deniability" and blames everything on the states. As happened during Covid and with SCOMO.  Yes I got into that. Funny how many things relate back to that.

Anyway,  So,  if you need a new best friend, who says "good point" "you are right" often, then ChatGPT might be for you. ChatGPT will engage you for a long as you like.  Just don't expect a straight answer.

That being the case then one has to ask the question, what is the point?

I use both ChatGPT and Grok. I get mixed results from both. I asked about my own career. One said I bought a company for $42 million. It was wrong by s factor of ten.

In other words folks it sounds like Bovine excrement. But whatever floats your boat I guess.

A factor of 10 is either 1,2,5 or 10.

The phrase a factor of ten of 42 is interpreted here as asking for one tenth of 42, equivalent to dividing 42 by 10. To arrive at the solution, perform the division: 42 ÷ 10 = 4.2.

Exactly.  I have come to the conclusion that the world didn't exist prior to the internet.  The current narrative that is being thrown around is the only truth and what ChatGPT says is heavily censored.

The timing of your second post on this topic might appear to some as a Freudian slip, Magnarc.

Let alone trying to have a discussion with these programs.

The AI suggestions which appear at the top of a page search, at best state the bleeding obvious, to even one's pet dog knows the answers are BS! Often contradictory answers over a few searches.

I basically ignore & scroll past AI suggestions.

One's dog's landmines have more redeeming qualities!

I have found AI to be very useful for certain questions and useless for others. You just need to know how to ask. That requires intelligence on your part. One of the bad things about AI is that it will "hallucinate". That is, it will manufacture "facts" out of nothing when it doesn't have an answer.

I am teaching myself a new language, even as a beginner I see enough mistakes which just don't seem right. Fortunately I have textbooks from the 1970s & 80s.

Putting the many politically incorrect issues aside. Like using smoking as part of language training.

At least the textbooks work.

A neighbour who is a fluent speaker has picked up the mistakes. I have been double checking.

When I come to think about it, you are right. Does that put me in illustrious company? Probably not. I wonder how many slips Siggy made, did he make them for big ladies as well as little ones?.

Have you made a decision on the tug? Sometimes it's a case of the Devil you know. We had our trusty Paj for ten yrs, never let us down once but, when we sold the van, there was no need for a 4wd so it was traded in on a new Rav4.

Have a nice day DMaxer.

I have spoken to several people, including the people who service it and will keep it Magnarc. Thanks for asking and you have a nice day too.

Driven past this widget on The Lakes Way for five years. Finally stopped and took a pic. Asked Google, grok and chatGPT what it was. Grok thought it was a tsunami warning and sea conditions device. ChatGPT and Google thought it was a natural disaster warning system. Told grok and ChatGPT that according to their competitor they were wrong. They both disagreed. Turns out it was a water intake filter from an old dam up here (Bootawa Dam) and the property owner put it in his paddock to confound people who drive past. I am one of those people
