GME Window Antenna

Hi, has anyone used the gme window mount antenna. Looks like a demister. Just wondering how effective the reception is. Dont use the uhf much, just a bit of beach convoy or passing trucks. https://www.gme.net.au/au/antennas/ae5004/

I use the short magnetic antenna for my GME unit. Just run the wire up the door seal.
Makes my "Plug and play" unit easy to remove, and works well.

Peter,

I assume that these type of aerials transmit the signal through the glass without having to drill a hole through the glass.

Is that correct?    Edit: Just asked Google and yes, using capacitive coupling.

But, how are the plates fixed to glass? Adhesive or something else?

Edit:  a YouTube shows me that one brand uses a pre-applied adhesive pad on each plate.  Ok now.

Back in the late 1980s I had a company car with a car phone. The aerial was stuck on the glass to align with the wiring inside the glass. Reception on the phone was brilliant.
