My 2014 RG Holden Colorado leaks

Hi there. I have just purchased a 2014 RG Colorado which has been sitting in the rain for a few days. When l got in there was water on both sides of the front foot wells which was about 6mm deep. Could anyone suggest a typical problem area with these vehicles which causes this? Would be most grateful for ideas.

If it is a dual cab .....it is most likely the brake light fitting mounted above the rear window. The sealing medium (or maybe a rubbers seal) shrinks and cracks....and the water runs towards the front under the floor covering due to the natural stance of the vehicle....or it can run around the ceiling ledge above the doors and drop off down the a pillar. I have helped a M8 try and find this looking for leaks at the front.....doors....windscreen etc...and basically didnt find it. A chat to a local panel beater got the drum.....and after a good sealer and 10 minutes work......no more leaky hey.

HTH.  Cheers  Keith

If it's in the front footwells but not the back ones, it may be the windscreen or door seals. Unless it's a single cab and has no rear footwells. Maybe place some wads of cloth or paper around suspect areas for leaks and then hose it down. If the cloth/paper wads get wet, you can trace it back to the source. Or ask a Land Rover owner for help - I suspect they'd be used to chasing down water leaks .

Sit in the passenger seat, doors closed, and have somebody with a garden hose give it a good soaking. Also check the drain tubes around the fresh air intakes. If they are blocked with dirt and leaf litter water will enter via the vents. This is common on vehicles with sunroofs.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I have now discovered that whoever fitting the 2 roof bars drilled through the roof depressions and fitted the bars without any silicon sealant hoping the rubbers would do the job. Lesson for whoever -- don't do by halves!!
