Grade 2 Hemorrhoids

I have just had a colonoscopy and all clear for nasties. However I have several grade 2 haemorrhoids that need treatment.

A google search provides a few solutions.

Im sure I'm not alone here and I was wondering if there could be some experience out there that could point me in the right direction.

I shall look forward to your replies.

Regards.

Hetho.

Hi Gary, my advice would be to take something to bite on and if you think you've had a sore ass before, think again.

Good luck.

I had the removal operation 30+ years ago, Previously tried shrinking injections and rubber banding which were only partlially successful for a limited time.

The operation was under general anaethetic and I woke up with pain but not over the top. The first time on the toilet was an adventure but with medication to make it soft it was over quickly. A warm bath helped. Soon after, I remember thinking it was worth doing rather than putting up with them.

I believe the further out of sight they are, the less pain.

Thank you for your replies. I have a date with the surgeon on the 5th Dec for removal.

Can't say I'm looking forward to I, but hopefully it will be better than putting up with what I've got at the moment.

Regards.

The Journey.

Oh my golly gosh.

5th Dec 2024 Surgery; First the Haemorrhoids were removed, not a lot of fun there.

Developed an infection in wound site.

9th Jan 2025 Surgery; Abscess incised, drained and packed, with continued in home nurse care for repacking each day for 10 days.

16th Jan 2025; Return to hospital for 4 days of IV antibiotics. Another infection.

28th Jan 2025; MRI.

6th March 2025 Surgery; Re incised abscess to remove packing gauze left in the abscess wound.

My GP is going to give his future Haemorrhoid patients my phone number. Not sure if he was joking or not.

Hopefully back to normal soon; so far so good. Not getting to excited as its only been a week.

I thought about adding some photos. no

Regards.

Which is worse, a grade one or a grade three. How are they graded. Is there a haemorrhoid inspector who classifies them or a judge who adjudicates. Sounds like a total pain in the ar$e Hendo and you have my utmost sympathy.
