Has anyone used a wifi solar camera such as the one advertised on this site . It looks very enticing and I am interested in purchasing . My main questions is whether users have found any problems with the signal from the back of the van reaching the screen in the front especially when driving as well as reversing. I am just not sure how a wifi (solar or other) travels from rear to front in a car sitting at 90kmh. I only have a small 15 van.
I read an old post where someone mentions Digptions wireless cameras but they have non in stock from what I can see
I have 6 Garmin cameras around the car, solar input to charge up battery(s) is simple, but you are looking at about 36AH per 24 hour to keep your head above water so to speak (which keeps the 28L car fridge/freezer going, primary reason, before any camera setup).
So basically, far more solar input than on the back of an "envelope", & far more battery back up than you would have thought reasonable to cover inclement weather.
But all easy enough to do without some off the shelf third rate money extorting BS brain dead money extorting wallet draining system.

As Brodie noted, the field of view is critical to decide what is right for you. I have a dual camera system ..... 120 degrees for reversing and 45 degrees for rear vision. Each is useless at performing the job the other does. If I had to just choose one, I would choose rear vision. Your comments suggest that is what you want.
Assuming you are referring to the Rearview170 camera that is even more wide angle than my 120 degree one. It would do an extremely poor job as a rear view camera.
Mine is a wired Safety Dave and I have no experience with wireless cameras.
I also have a wired Safety Dave dual camera like Are We Lost. I have no experience of Wi-Fi cameras. I originally had only the OEM wide angle set as a rear view camera, but one could not see anything until it was on our tail. I swapped the single for a dual and ran a second cable (audiovisual and power) inside the rear wall, through cupboards, the floor and the chassis to the tug. It followed a different route to the original camera cable (still used) and has now proven to be very reliable and powered by the tug. For rear vision of the road, the 45 degree (narrow angle) is ideal.
