I do not know about your experiences with the shocking phone customer service by large corporate companies.
Of late I had to wait on my mobile for 48 minutes to receive a response from my insurance company. Similar to the run around that I experienced from a telecommunication company. And as for trying to make contact with Medicare and then the wait time for another department to take my call, I ended up hanging up.
Now do not get me going on but how to understand staff at offshore call centers.
We the customer are the most important person.
Customer service no exits.
but how do we combat this lack of respect from companies concerned?
When they are not replied to by next day, repeat the same e-mail twice a few minutes apart.
Still no reply - send the same e-mail 3 or 4 times next day with a time gap between each..
And so-on. I have never gone beyond 3rd day 24 messages. Just keep the message and resend original repetitively. Easy.
The bastards will eventually get the message.
With Telstra join their (whatsit called) premium or preferred member. You never have to wait more than a few minutes on the phone or text messages. And you can accumulate points to get gifts from their shop.
And when you get the be courteous crap remind them that they are being discourteous by treating you with contempt.
On more than one occasion I have contacted my State or Federal member by e-mail.
You can also vote with your feet.
Write to your preferred media - they hate this.

Thankfully most of my problems I can sort out online as I dread having to ring, recent Insurance saga took over a month emails ignored and phone calls only confused the issue as they still got it wrong, I was most impressed that I stayed calm and cool during the whole thing ............................... I hate being on hold...
Got fed up with the price rise recently from Telstra went to Tangerine for our phones and mobile broadband, more data less cost and went form $145mth to $90 and coverage seems to be just as good as Telstra even previous block out for wholesale network have gone with the new upgrades around the place and no long wait if you call.....

Telstra's rewards point system is bogus. Spent 40,000 points on a price reduction for music earbud's only to later google the retail price for the same buds from other retailers, almost all were cheaper than my "rewards discount" pair from the Telstra shop.

Tangerine uses the Telstra Wholesale network. The same as all other Telstra resellers with the solitary exception of Boost. The coverage is nowhere near as good as the full Telstra network.
If you stay in populated areas, then you probably won't notice the difference. But venture away from those populated areas and the difference is huge. Examples: Tangerine has zero coverage for 1000km across the Nullabor vs Telstra almost all the way. Here is an interactive map to see the difference ..... scroll down to the second map with the slider. Take note of western QLD and NSW.
Yes, I am well aware of the Telstra wholesale/retail situation & the coverage differences.
What I don't understand is the bit about "no long wait if you call".
I assume that the wholesale coverage has improved with addition network work .. the other bit of Big Mal's comment.
My understanding of part of the reason for reduced coverage in some areas is that certain transmission carrier frequency bands in those areas are not made available to wholesale customers. Perhaps to restrict usage of their limited data carrying capacity.
Mobile Network providers transmit multiple carrier frequencies from the same towers in an attempt to deliver large data volumes close to the towers (eg. Town Centers) and other carrier frequencies with greater distance coverage albeit with less data volume carrying capacity.
Of course it follows that with closer positioning of towers in population dense areas the larger volume carrying/shorter range frequency bands available to both Wholesale & Retail customers makes the difference to the user less apparent .. unless some load sharing/dumping techniques are used in peak times (ie preference to Retail Customers). Not sure if that happens.
Sorry Cupie, I credited your comment as from Cuppa by mistake.
I believe the differences between Wholesale and Retail networks is explained by market delineation. Telstra wants to ensure there is notable benefit for their more expensive premium service, and not allow the cheaper alternatives offered by the resellers to access them. As I say, Boost Mobile is the exception.

Cant be bogus if yiu spend zero!
i have a set of binoculars, two soundbars and a phone charge bank.
One soundbar went wobbly after about 9 months of near full time usage and
it was replaced without question and no need to return crook one.
I have 4 iPhones and an iPad all unlimited data $296 and one landline with unlimited data $105
and a free CellFi and antenna (installed) because our speeds were only about 20-30mbs but
now are around 60 - 80. (Take it with me in the van - wonderful with a small whip antenna).
The points just accumulate and so I choose from the shop and it arrives without delay.
Brodie I see you have had your paintwork Hydro dipped, I've done many of those myself. The Ducati has a nice boom to it with Staintune pipes, I use it to go Harley hunting on the twisty hills roads over here.

I don't know Hydro, Peter, I had it airbrushed with hellish little sufferers by a bloke in Canberra.
Is quite a hit how it looks. Here's a better pic of the paint.
