 Make of vehicle might help.

Diesel Tune at Virginia, northside of Brisbane helped us with a computer problem with a Nissan, great help. I go past there regularly and they have a cross section of makes on their customer parking area.

Years ago British 4x4 at Forest Glen tuned our Landrover, excellent job.

I bought a non fish & chip oil burner Land Rover, no need to re-map.

I was asking just in case you were remapping for a performance gain. If so and you suffer engine and/or driveline issues at a future date, remapping will void ALL warranty claims.

When a dealer workshop plugs your vehicle computer in that is the FIRST thing they look for, good luck.

It was my mid life crisis toy and I was throwing money at it, we were both enjoying the series 2 Discovery 5 cylinder until we had a misfortune of a  oil hose letting go on the auto gearbox.

Then she was not amused, good bye toy.

Every now and then, she reminds me how she really enjoyed travelling in the Disco.

Do you really want to push your engine gearbox and drivetrain beyond
the already extremes experienced in towing?

I actually decrease my performance requirements when the van is attached.

You'll eventually pay for indiscretions in the future. i take care to only use a
poofteenth of throttle under almost all circumstances.
Hence about 16L to 100k with 3500 kg and a fairly high van behind, and a fairly
heavy tug loaded to the max into the bargain.

And I rarely use top gear - I like a sweetly spinning engine rather than a snorty
lugging engine, except for runs of long, lazy distances at moderate speeds. Then
the box selects 5th.

Depends on the vehicle and what the actual remapping does, if it just increases boost then engine life can be compromised and sometimes just by having a better air intake set up and exhuast system will return a good performance and economy increase, again vehicle make plays a big part.... often the plug in units are not all that great....

Bottom line is, if you have your vehicle remapped and the engine goes bang the "expert" who did the job will NOT be paying for your new engine.

If you have any work done on a vehicle by a person or company that holds themselves out as being an expert or qualified to perform that work and they are negligent in performing that work, then they are liable both in contract and in tort.
