Recently purchased a 2011 Sprinter LWB motor home. What is the ideal tyre pressure? Have looked online but recommendations from 44psi up to 60psi. Any assistance will be appreciated.
You need to provide some specific information.
1. ACTUAL weight (from a weigh bridge) for each axle.
2. Tyre specifications, in particular the maximum load carrying capacity and the pressure required at that load. This information is moulded into the sidewall of the tyres.
Without this information, no one will be able to even guess.
Cheers,
Peter
The Tyre pressires on the Plastic Plate that provides under passenger seat access on our 313 Long Wheel Base High Roof 3.55t Campervan reads:
................... Load....................................... Unload
225/70 R15 C Front 41psi and Rear 65 psi, Manual
The information you need should be somewhere on the vehicle eg drivers side door, bottom flip out comparment that has our axle ratings.
Your vehicle with, say 16/17 wheels and a different model could well have different pressures.
Tyre placards can not provide accurate information, because they do not know the actual weights carried which is critical information.
Getting it right is not difficult, but it is crucial to getting the best performance, safety and life from the tyres.
This applies to every vehicle.
Cheers,
Peter
