4kg Gas Bottle

Read in CMCA website that 4kg Swap & Go bottles have not been available since Feb 2023.

Firstly, is this correct?

Secondly, if yes,  has anyone found a way around this?

My Gas bottle compartment is not big enough to accommodate this and can't be made any bigger.  8kg are too heavy for me.  You can't get gas refils in ACT.

Why?  Why?  Why?

I did a swap in March no problems, I think there was a problem with supply in February. ACT is full of gas if you can bottle it, there is a gazillion swap & go's and BCF at least do refills from their 3 stores.

They are definitely available but some places choose not to carry them. Just choose a different outlet or get them refilled.

Outlets limited in ACT.

No refils whatsoever in ACT and hasn't been for about 10yrs.

ATM No 4kg available either at Bunnings or BCF. or refils for that matter.

I'll make sure I come home with a full gas bottle. I only use one about every 6 months. Solars great hey. At least if I do run out, I can use the electric stove for a short time.

Our local Mitre 10 has them as I had to get one a couple of months ago. I think their cylinder exchange provider is Supagas. They are comparatively expensive at around 75-80% of the cost of an 8.5kg cylinder.

msg Metro servos do refills in Canberra and that's a fact! I'm getting to the stage of not believing anything you post.

Cheap and easy
