Crossing WAs Horizontal Falls soon a thing of the past (9news.com.au)

It was one of the best days out we had in the Kimberly and a highlight of our trip to WA .

Included in the trip was a tour of the inlet telling us about the "history" of the place.  I bet they won't ban that.

You get a really good aerial view as you come in and go out. So extra flights would be superfluous. With only the tour, "history" lesson and shark feeding, it will make the trip unprofitable for the company and not worth the high cost.

WOW.  Aren't we the lucky generation.  The last to see a lot of unspoiled places before Parks came and built all those paths and signs.  The last lot to climb Ayres Rock.  and now the last lot to experience the Horizontal Falls.

Wonder what will be the next on the list to disappear or be defaced in the name of accessibility and profit.

Result of the useless Cook Labor government cottoning to minority groups again as is their want. Most of the decisions taken lately in this State are being driven purely by minority noisey activist groups.

G'day Mel,

Maybe in the very near future we will have someone at the front of our supermarkets playing a certain instrument instead if the music they pipe through the speakers.

Sort of on topic. I was invited to my Grandsons school down South East of Melbourne early December just gone to watch grandson #2 get an award. The assembly started off with a, some sort of, I think, welcome to the ? You know how it goes ? It's at the footy and everything else these days. It was in doors but maybe if out doors we might have been walking through smoke?

IMO. Everything is going overboard and too Politically Correct.

Enjoy the great outdoors but Keep Safe. (While we can)

Doug,
It might be more believable and help with the goodwill if they didn't charge for those so-called services. They are certainly not cheap.

Sold some land recently had to get them in to make sure there was nothing of interest there. There wasn't. But still another cost of selling. I wonder if they had found an interesting rock what would have happened. Probably would have held up the sale no end or no sale at all.

Apparently "Welcome to Country" was devised by Ernie Dingo and Richard Walley in 1976, and has no "traditional" heritage.

Its all a dream story. The tourist industry love it and find it a great source of attraction to sell and make big profits.

Post your address and we will come and camp at your place.
We might make a mess, but I am sure you will be OK with that.
Cheers,
Peter

So punish the silent majority who do the right thing, how about all parties working together to develop strategies to address the minorities behaviour instead of restricting access to our country.

"Their" country is private property. They have the right to restrict and control access just like you do for your private property and farmers and pastoralists do for their private property.
Cheers,
Peter

What a load of ......    Please do you really believe that was the intention of the law?  and do you really believe shutting down places, to all but a few minority of Australians is in the spirit of the law?  I don't think so.

So lets hope they are paying their rates and taxes like all other Australian land owners. That was a joke.

You don't have a clue what you are talking about, do you?

Australian farmers and graziers do not pay land tax. They pay a lease (for land they do not own), and income tax.

Cheers,

Peter

The law that made them custodians of the land. Is that ownership?

You mean that land we took away from them 200 years ago that they have now managed to get a little bit of it back?

Cheers,

Peter

Have no issues with FN having ownership to lands however there are no free riders. So they like all others should pay taxes etc and be self funded instead of relying on government handouts. I have been waiting months to hear back from Minister Burney, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs to outline her strategies to move forward to improve FN lives since the Voice lost. The silence has been deafening.

Peter,

You haven't answered my question. Custodianship is ownership.? Is that what you are saying.

ATM they have custody of 58% of Australia.(may not be absolutely correct number but something like that) Not bad for 3% of the population. Possibly that percentage could be higher if you include the ring ins. They have made a lot of claims that are still to be settled. All of which Ratepayers have to foot the bill for very expensive legal defenses whilst they get legal fees free.

We took away from them 200yrs ago. I wasn't there. I had no say. Oh, any by the way neither were these people claiming everything they can get their hands on.

I bought land offered for sale by the Government, paid for with money I earned from working. Nothing was given to me. I never got welfare and handouts from the day I was born. The Govt was given authority to sell the land to the people here by the Crown.

If they can claim every bit of Crown Land that is not occupied including greenspaces in suburbs when is enough, enough.

Great equality and equity going on here.
