Because I hope to be on the road when I turn 70 in June next year and having already had shingles twice and wasn't willing to risk getting it again; 2months ago I paid nearly $300 for the 1st of the new vaccine shots.
So I'm a little passed off, but I suppose at least I can get the 2nd one free
The waiting list for me to get my 2nd shingles vaccine for free is to long so I've paid another $500 for the 2nd one.
YOLO and I didn't fancy a 3rd bout of shingles
I had shingles several decades ago. I was bed ridden in extreme pain for 10 weeks. You do not want to get it.
Margaret and I had our first shot of the new vaccine on 1/11/23 and are booked for the second shot in a few weeks.
Cheers,
Peter
Have both had our two Shingrix jabs. Wife had a headache on the evening of the first - nothing else. I had nothing at all. On second jab we both had sore arms at the injection site for a couple of days, Nothing else.
Had my first Shingrix on Dec1st , just a sore arm for a few days ,the same for all jabs that i`ve had . Enquired at our local Med centre here in NZ .as to cost ,told that its only free if you are actually 65 yrs old ,no younger ,no older .Price quoted $360. for each dose!!
Rang a pharmacy, cost $280 each dose .They got the job .
Rock on and stay well people .
Andy .
Visited Dr yesterday, he told me it had been seven years since my last shingles vaccination, he sent me to the Nurse to have new part 1 of 2 shingrex. Painful? yes, worse than Tetanus shot, pain in arm through to left breast overnight, still feeling it.
It was free to me due to my age.
