A bit of nostalgia

From pre back problem & arthritis days. Still have it, sitting under blankets where it's been since 2008.

Heavily modified inside & out. Went against the grain & built what was a stock '74 Daytona into what I wanted.  Lovely to ride but a bit over braked. One disc would have sufficed.

Could just do the ton. Not bad for a 500. All the checkers & sign writing done by hand, no decals.

This is a bit of my bike "nostalgia" .....1962 Yamaha YDS2 ,250cc Sports road bike of the late '50's early '60's era.......(this one has only travelled 7000 miles in its life) - first Japanese bike I had ridden, in early 1960's......

Wow! Twin leader on a 250!

My first Japanese bike was an  early 60's Honda CA72. A very poor buy though. The pressed steel front forks had been in a bingle & had a poor welded repair & it didn't corner very well. Paid £35 for it. One like his but was yellow. Hard to judge which was worse the CZ125 (with non existent brakes) it replaced or the Honda. The CZ cost me £20 paid off at £4 a week from a mate of a mate. My parents forbade me to ride it (to no effect).

I have some early Japanese bikes (chrome, paint metal....no plastic) and just enjoy looking at them. Two on Club Plates but not ridden often...Summer mainly. Great hobby and a great "platform" for social interaction with people of similar interests.....
