Tyre pressure monitor systems

Tyre pressure monitors how good are they? I have been asking at a number of tyre places about TPMS and the tyre places have all said that they have never seen any fitted. There are 2 types internal and external  . Any comments please.

Hi, Last 6 months been using the Oricom TPMS, Took a while to set up as we run pressure above 80 psi, had to use their phone help to set the preset values. So far saved one tyre as we cracked an alloy rim on car trailer and alarm went off. Just for peace of mind I believe good value.
