We had our 5th Jab in mid December, just 2 days before my wife contracted Covid, & about 10 days before I followed suit.
We were both tested to ensure we didn't have Covid prior to the jab, due to the presence of a visitor we had at the time who was positive, but think my wife must have already got it from him, just not enough to show on the test. 2 days later when she felt unwell the test showed a strong & almost instant positive.
We believed at the time of getting the shot that it was our 4th, but discovered after having it we had previously had our 4th. All 5 were Pfizer.
Wife had antivirals (Paxlovid) prescribed which she took, but disliked the side effects. Came good, but a few days after the antivirals were completed had 'rebound Covid' - essentially like getting it twice.
I was prescribed antivirals (Paxlovid) too, but on the basis of my wife's experience (& the fact that the medication I was given was 4 months out of date) I chose not to take it. Covid 'hung on' for 6 weeks before I came good.
We will continue to have the vaccinations as they become available - I don't recommend Covid to anyone.
Yes why not!
We both have had Covid, we both managed to get the antivirals even though age wise we did not qualify, wife has immune issues. Lucky for us better within 48hrs, a slow recovery followed but only felt really bad for a couple of days, then the antivirals kicked in. Still took 6 to 7 weeks for full recovery, and we are both fairly fit walking 25km a week.
Better to be safe than sorry, no side effects from the other 4 jabs
Ian
We both have bloody sore arms & feel bit lethargic.
Only walked our dog 3kms this morning instead of the usual 6kms.
Luckily we packed everything before we had the jab, taking off tomorrow on a month long trip.
Thought it was better to have the vaccine before we left.
We haven't had Covid so far.

.......little old Mt Barker is like being isolated anyway.
That was how I'd been thinking about it, from the time Covid became a thing in Australia until last December we has been in isolated spots & had never been anywhere where there had been any community transmission. All it took was one person to bring it to us.
I spoke to my doctor an hour ago re 5th covid vaccination and he said I can't have one till 6 months after having covid, which I had 2 months ago?????
Cheers,
Roy.

Yep, thats exactly what is the case, recommended 6mths after covid
Thanks Craig, re the New New Version, Have cancelled our 5th shot on next Tuesday and will wait until early March, hopefully we don't get the bug B4 hand.
I'm booked in for 5th jab in 2weeks time (couldn't get one sooner, all booked out)
I'm getting my 1st Moderna (it's recommended for the new variants).
At this stage I'm still a novid and hope to stay that way, I didn't even catch it off the hubby. Hubby has to wait for his 5th shot as he had Covid less than 6months ago.
Even if I'm not overly concerned for me getting Covid I don't want to be responsible for giving to the over 90yrs old members of my community.
I had the flu in 2003 and couldn't get out of bed for three weeks and I've been having yearly flu shots ever since and never had it again, even though I worked with young children (I got plenty of other viruses though).
Hopefully next year flu & Covid protection will come in one shot. After all they now have triple antigen for the kids instead of 3 shots, so who knows.
I got tinnitus from the first one, Astrazeneca. Second one Pfizer, tinnitus got a whisker worse. Don't want the tinnitus to get worse so have stopped at two vaccination. It's all a gamble.

Vaccination does not stop you passing it on to anyone. It only helps if you should get covid and maybe it will not affect you as seriously as it might without vaccination.
We've had pizza with the lot, first two Astra Zeneca, third Pfizer, fourth & fifth Moderna.
None of them affected me besides the normal sore arm but the Moderna made my wife get a temperature & vomit.

Bev and I, were both up to date with all the covid jabs, but like others we will have to wait six months since our bout of covid, until we get the new jab (July)
From where I am sitting, it does look as though covid will now be regular jabs
Hopefully they will find a real cure, before covid mutates into something that is no longer stoppable
After my serious clash with the Wuhan Flu last year, I will be getting a 5th vaccination as soon as my Doctor has stock. I firmly believe that the vaccinations and anti-virals are what kept me this side of the sod, last year.
Bloody Hell, all these big girl's blouses, complaining about a proven medical procedure - Over the years I have had hundreds of vaccinations to prevent serious illnesses and disease after advice (and orders) from Medico's that certainly know more than "Facebook Influencers".
We are fortunate enough to live in a country where we have excellent health services, unlike some of our Asian neighbours, where I've seen first hand what disease can do (and still does).

Well, I have been very lucky this week, diagnosed today with covid. Had it for 6 days, but only diagnosed today. It is the worst flu I have ever had. I have had body aches and pains, nausea, sweats, double vision, haven't eaten in 3 days, the runs, constant urination, stomach ache, High temp, but then I have a break for 3-4 hours then it all starts again. Not enjoying it.
