Companion Hot Water connected directly to tap water

Hi, is it possible to connect a Companion Hot Water connected directly to tap water & not use a bucket of water & pump provided?

I have found this, Companion Aquacube Water Hose Adaptor (COMP823),however I can't find one to purchase, is there anything equivalent?

Welcome to GN's Douglyn,

The net gives a pretty good explanation of the make up of the adaptor; When youre using your shower unit with a larger group, or in a fixed installation the Aqua Cube Water Hose Adaptor from Companion is just what you need. ¾ BSP threaded outlet ; Quick connect fitting inlet ; 1 BSP threaded adaptor with male garden hose connector; Pressure regulator with connect fittings and compatible with Aqua Cube.

The pressure regulator would be the hardest bit to source if you or your plumber mate wished to make one.

I believe the unit is available ready made from Kogan.

I've checked Snowys, A1 RV, Outback adventures; all advise no longer is it being stocked, when this happens it usually means it won't be stocked.

I, would purchase good quality brass hose connectors (at Bunnings) and insert a brass Disc with small hole drilled (similar to a washer) under the sealing ring on the water supply end - this would act as a restrictor of sorts - as pressure in fluids cannot be dissipated by flow restriction, always ensure you turned off water at supply tap, prior to turning off shower. Not knowing the internal plumbing material within the heater cube (brass, steel, plastic, hard drawn cheese), if you can locate a pressure regulator valve to put between tap and heater all the better.

You could go to someone like Reece Plumbing where they actually have people with technical skills. They are not the cheapest but you save avoiding stuff-ups in the long run.

I have bought non run of the mill toilet parts & they have been very helpful.
