Hello we are looking go to purchase a 2nd hand compact, Ducati model of the Conquest. (21ft) Our driveway starts risqng about 3metres after leaving rd. Trying to determine whether the rear of the Conquest will clear the road as the front ascends. Can anyone help with what clearance the Conquest has on level ground. Then distance rear axle is from back of van? Then distance between axles? I plan to make a jig up and walk it up the driveway.
Or if anyone can do a test drive up our driveway at Jamberoo I would gladly pay for your petrol and let you stay freecamping in our fairly level carpark!
Welcome to GN's Jamba1, The distance between wheel centers will determine when the stern of vehicle descends (it will descend at the same length of driveway rising), when front of vehicle starts to rise.
Have you tried getting information from local Conquest Dealer

There are many different types of Ducato Jayco Conquest out there, so the correct model would be a help
Here are the rough measurements of my 2006 Ducato Jayco Conquest FD 22 2, (the one in my Avatar) which may/may not be the same as the one, you are thinking of buying
All measurements are in millimetres
Roo bar to centre of front wheel = 1,000
Centre of front wheel to centre of rear wheel = 4,000
centre of rear wheel to back = 2,000
Height near front wheel = 320
Height near rear wheel = 370
Height at back of motorhome = 540
Note that my underbody slopes upwards, from the rear wheel to the back of motorhome, (some are flat all the way through)
Note also that I have had the rear (two leaf) spring re-sprung, and a third leaf fitted
Note also that I run 225 tyres, which gives about a 7 millimeter lift than the normal 215 tyres
Note also that I am within my maximum weight of 3,850 Kg
Thankyou Possum and Tony for your very helpful and well considered replies from my first post as a Grey Nomad. I can now work out whether the driveway will be ok. Guess if I ger it wrong there is always the jack hammer, bull dozer and new concrete option.
