Avan Cruiseliner/Aliner Camervan Owners Advice

Hello Owners,

I have recently sold my large caravan and am now downsizing considerably.

I am looking at both models and seem happy with everything on offer but I have been told (albeit only by one person) that the factory fitted reverse cycle air conditioner struggles with cooling the van when the weather does heat up a bit. I am told the heating side is great but the cooling side is questionable.

So may I ask those who own one ...... is the air conditioner acceptable especially on the cooling side. Or perhaps my friend just had a faulty aircon?

I ask this as I may consider alternative air conditioning in a build.

Your advice would be appreciated.

Col

Have you thought about buying a smaller caravan?
We watched an elderly couple trying to erect their "ant hill" on a wet windy day.
They got soaked & so did everything else until they finally managed to get the side walls up.
If you have any questions regarding Avan Campers why not PM Dougwe, he owned one until he bought a larger teepee.

I am not sure I understand your response. I am downsizing to a small van and yes it could be difficult if it is super windy but no more difficult than trying to erect a tent or campervan.

Yes, Dougwe was the first person I spoke to and his van did not have aircon.

All I am asking is is the factory fitted air conditioner capable or not with cooling the van. Not about the van itself.

Thank you for responding anyway.

I had answered the OP's questions previously but somehow answers lost somewhere in the Ether.

The aircon fitted to Avan would have less area to cool than a regular caravan.

Avan supplies differing A/C dependent on model, etc.

Several friends have Avans and have no complaints with their A/C units performance.

I have had several Dometic/Ibis A/C units fitted to my caravans that adequately perform in the tropics.

A/C in caravans is rarely a consideration unless permanently living in van, fans tend to be a better option in tropics - We tend to use our's no more than 6 - 10 times a year.
