Toilet cassette troĺley

Bunnings sell a folding trolley for just less than $40. Lightweight aluminium and folds flat for travel, put your foot on the base plate to flip it down and lift up the two arms. Note that Bunnings have several of various capacities - and prices! Ours is rated at 35kg.

Also, from time to time Aldi have the same ones slightly cheaper, but you will probably have to wait for them to come on sale again.

I use ours when I have to carry the C200 cassette any distance. And yes, I know that the C200 cassettes have little wheels and a pull along handle, but the wheels fall off at every little bump!

Thanks TimTim - that's the one, although I'm sure mine was only rated at 35kg. Anyway, the price has dropped by a couple of dollars.

Bunnings have them right up to 250kg loading at a cost of $173, although I think that would be a bit of an overkill for caravaners.

I never let ours get full, I generally empty the cassette every chance I get while it it light.

That reminds me, I will get up and empty it now while it is light so to speak.

I also empty when still light and sometimes that could be days between emptying as I am solo. If there is no dump point where I am I put in back of car and drive to where one is, usually not that far away but that is not all that often.

I have a trolley like shown above but got mine of evilbay but it is just there and not used often and only has been used for the Gennie.

Are you one of those blokes who take their gennie away from the caravan door so can not hear it or smell it.

Yeh! For sure mate. I like to let everyone enjoy the sounds. They usually don't hear it anyway as at 2.00am their all asleep.

Nah! I had to go down a dozen vans away with it to help someone out at Greens.

My most enjoyable cassette emptying experience was when we hired a motor home & were staying in a popular CP in Darwin.
The cassette had a collapsible handle & wheels.
I proudly walked thru to the distant dump point when people were out enjoying happy hour.
Everyone avoided me, I felt like Jesus's parting the waters. biggrin

I have a folding trolley. It is good, but one downside is that the hard wheels can't easily move over loose stone. The last park I was at, I put it in the car, even though the dump point was nearby, because it wouldn't wheel over the stones.

Emptying it more frequently is good advice, you'll have to lift it out of its little hidey-hole, and if you need to use the car you need to lift it higher than just getting it onto the trolley.

I too use the car & never let the cassette get too full. Most dump points have an adjacent car park.

I have a small loo kit in a zip top plastic bag that sits at the rear of the Patrol adjacent to where I carry the cassette ...

- box of gloves

- old towel to put the tank on & to cover it to avoid splashes (never had any though) & it protects the cassette from any risk of sliding

- roll of kitchen paper to clean outside of cassette & hands

- small bottle of hand sanitiser

- bottle of loo chemical with measuring cup

- Spare plastic rubbish bags in case there is not a convenient bin at dump point

I have no need for a trolley but if I have to carry the cassette any distance, mine doesn't have wheels, I use the old towel from my kit as a wrap around to avoid any splash or leak.

Interesting subject, personally I have never taken any notice as to how the Bride transports the cassette. Must watch her next time!

we used to carry a pull apart gopher [gogo brand] for my partner ................so i used it for the loo run to empty it ........super easy and didnt need to carry it at all ......

My cassette has a telescopic handle and two wheels, no need for a trolley. It copes well with all surfaces.

I either empty it on the way out of a park provided there is adequate parking. Otherwise I put it on the tailgate of the car. It also has a handle & wheels but for my height, I need longer handles! Tim, that trolley looks good.

While we were locked up at Cunnamulla in late April, early May with Covid, emptying the canister was my "allowable outing" every three days.

I purchased an el-cheapo sack trolley from Aldi, only good for up to about 19 kilograms carrying weight, which is sufficient for the toilet cassette.

I found that even with the handle extended, it was a bit short for me, (and I am not a tall man, and my back is not as young as it once was), so I extended the handle.

It is strapped to the rear on my motorhome, when not in use

Aldi will have the folding trollies on sale Saturday 3 September.

$39.99 with a quoted rating of 90kg.

While looking a bit flimsy to me, at 90kgs they could also be used for moving fridge/freezers and such.

I bought a cheap sack trolly from Supacrap and I then bought some wheels that fit but with solid tyres.

It worked great to wheel the potty out into the scrub but better still it was absolutely terrific to wheel and position the generator at a distance that was the same as the longest power lead I had.

I did have some good equipment for caravanning, the sack trolley was one great bit of gear and my generator was the quietest I have ever heard. biggrin

I can think of one person on this forum that would need a trolley rated at 90kg to tow away his toilet cassette. I reckon Doug could name that person in one guess.

In one of the settings where the older man and the younger are both gagging, there is a sign prohibiting fires. I could not see properly but did anyone notice anything about smoking prohibited as well? The younger bloke had a smoke in his mouth in the settings towards the end of the YouTube.

I would not be smoking around a toilet cassette tank. Maybe a possibility of stray gases like methane and hydrogen sulphide, both being flammable.

Not sure if they were in a QLD National Park, but QLD govt website about smoking bans could fit with a definition of a public facility.
