Hi all, I have a 2020 Isuzu D Max Dual Cab Ute LSM which has Line Detection. I found that "YES" it has it's advantages and is there for a safety purpose. However I did personally find it annoying whist driving more so when towing. I do accept that it is a personal choice as to whether as an owner you like it or like myself prefer not to use it " all of the time ". I have discovered that the line detection system can easily be turned off should you so choose. All that is involved is to book your D Max in at a Isuzu Dealer at and it can be programmed so as to allow the line detector to be on or off. This gives you a choice to be able to use it or not. However it still takes about 3 seconds to turn it on each time you start your engine. There is a small ICON on the right hand side of the steering wheel that looks like a wheel and all that is required is that when you start the motor you press this Icon and hold for 3 seconds. If you prefer to at times have the Line Detection ON then you do nothing but start you engine and drive off. My vehicle is still under warranty so that is why there was no charge. I do not know what models or what years have the Line Detector System fitted so the question would need to be discussed with a Dealer to determine if there is a cost should it not still be under warranty. I fully realise this to be a personal choice but by now having it programmed I can decide to have it on or off. I was not aware that this option could be done so just thought if other owners also had the Line Detection they could also have the choice of having it programmed.

Have you had it programmed off permanently or do you have to hold the icon every time to switch it off. My brother has one and it annoys him as it is very sensitive and he does a lot of country driving.
He has said he can turn it off, but comes back on when he starts the engine.
HI Bob, if you reread my post, I have outlined that the Line Detection is on each time you start the vehicle. Should you not want the Detection ON then you press on the Icon for 3 seconds and that then removes the Line Detection. After it is programmed the driver has 2 options { 1. just start the car and drive off - that means the Line Detection is still active OR 2- Press the Icon for 3 seconds and that action removes the Detection. The choice is either you can have it on or turn it off. However you need to make that decision each time you turn the key on. Now my post is only referring to my Isuzu D max and not any other make of vehicle. I have no detail in regard to them. Trust this clarifies your reply.
Thanks Jim, that's what he is doing atm, turning it off every time he uses it. I had re-read your post a couple of times but thought maybe the Dealer had turned it off full time.
Bloody vehicles are too smart these days, won't need a driver shortly.
When I buy a new vehicle I turn off all the "features" & just drive the damn thing.
That includes my GTS86 sports car
I find technology annoying, just a personal preference.
I don't need a gizmo to recognise lane departure, l'm in control, not the bloody car.
