I thought I might have a peek at what's happening.
Thanks to those that have contacted me over the last few months, it's nice to know one or two actually missed me on the forum.
My main reason for coming back is to remind all that this COVID virus is still around and has to potential to kick your head in, F*** you up the butt, chew you up and if you're lucky spit you out. Most of my Family and many friends and acquaintances have had the misfortune to have the virus with varying degrees of illness (one died unfortunately).
My encounter with the virus was a sudden onset with an initial cough and sore throat for 2-3 hours - then the truckload of anvils ran over me and then reversed over me several times - The oxy acetylene torch was then shoved in both ears until all the nervous system was BBQ'd. At this point the anti-virals were given (common side effects listed on container Diarrhoea, chills), LIES - white hot lava expels from the anus at the rate of Warragamba Dam bursting and the entire body is freeze dried and shaken like Azaria at a dingo's picnic. When attempting to leave the safety of bed the legs won't work and you have the balance and agility of a toddler force fed five bottles of rum.
Truthfully; when the lungs couldn't get air I knew I was dying - for the first time in my life I was wrong fortunately.
Bless the Drs and Nurses, all the Ambo's and a special thanks to the Child-bride.
I am not a newcomer to pain or illnesses but fellow Nomads this little episode really set me back on my bum like naught experienced before.
It doesn't matter that you feel like a goose sanitising hands and shopping trolleys, that you look like an idiot wearing the mask - Just Do It - you never know the life you save may be extra special to you.

Struth, bloody hell and all those other sayings. I thought you had ridden on ahead for sure mate. By the sound of it you nearly did but made a Uturn quicker than quick.
I started to use the face mask again about 2 weeks ago when in busy places or it looks a bit suss and have never stopped sanitizing or wiping shopping trolley's anyway. In fact, my hands see more alcohol than my mouth these days. I keep to myself most of the time as well.
Good to hear you are recovering slowly, so now it's time to speed up that process.

Good to hear from you Possum. Sounds like it was a bloody nightmare. Episodes like this make us aware of our fragile mortality. Get to work and find some more funnies for us!
As I was always considered (by those who are supposed to know) as a category A1 Risk, I have been acutely aware of the risk of the Virus and as such have always been in the first batch of vaccinations, and had a second booster (4th shot) some days prior to the National roll-out, additionally have always been amongst the first to get Flu jab annually. I always wear P2 mask when shopping/socialising and as I don't frequent pubs, clubs and other places of mass gatherings I believed that I would always dodge the bullet.
It turned out that whilst visiting and old Mate to deliver some groceries (an 88 year old Malayan Conflict Veteran) that an inconsiderate close relative visited the day before - Gen Y, macho type doesn't believe there is any virus - who's wife and children and in-laws all suffering from this Wuhan Flu. Spreading the disease like a two year old spreads Nuttella (every bloody where).
Doc reckons I'll be back to my old self after a couple of weeks - pity none of his magic pills could put me back to my young self.
Still back to arguing with Insurance Companies trying to get my properties remediated - we don't mind so much living full-time in the Evernew, it's just that we are unable to travel. But then, the price of fuel would certainly limit our mileage.
There are still many farmers out there that could use a hand in getting their lives together after fires and floods so consider becoming a volunteer in some remote locale - We really enjoyed our four months helping down in South Australia. Some of those lasses from good Polish and German stock really know how to put together some road-kill, cabbage and potato - Worked so bloody hard I really needed it to keep the weight from just dripping off me. It's great to lick the platter clean and then have some room left for strudel.
It's a buggar getting all the mould off the old "Imperial" though.
