While others have a different take, I've always found the traffic and road conditions apps/websites accurate and up to date for my needs. If no flooding is indicated that means there's no flooding. However you do need to zoom in and drill down on any icon to get the exact location and details. You also need to consider expected weather when travelling in an area recently affected by flooding.
Just went through there a week ago, the road has copped a beating and there are many big potholes and the undulating surface is frankly terrible for a national road. Used to be a good run but I would go any other way to avoid it at present. They are doing a lot of roadworks but they are running out of "Rough Surface" signs as many bad spots aren't signed.
