Tough Call - Kea Nomad - Replace Rear Windows?

Hi All,

Our quest for a campervan continues.

I have found a 2nd hand KEA Nomad (Merc Sprinter) at a fair price.

But.......

The KEA Nomad conversion uses windows.........that don't open!

We've looked at about 20 of these vans.

The only window in the rear of the van that opens is the one in the sliding door.

Having used a rental van (Fiat) that has opening windows on each side of the bed, and next to the dinette, we really prefer that for a nice breeze.

An option might be to go ahead and get the Kea Nomad and replace three windows, to give us windows that can be opened, and have fly screens etc built in.

Does anyone have any idea, even ball park what that might cost?

Very little. I had a few windows changed for bigger ones in one of my vans (40 footer!) and the cost was minimal.  Body builders and van wreckers may be able to assist. Good luck. Cheers

Sliding windows are available to be fitted to a Kea Nomad.
Not sure of the cost right now but can check on Monday.

This may be due to the position of the exhaust outlet. I seem to remember something to do with a roadworthy condition so as to stop exhaust gases being drawn back into a vehicle.
might be worth checking out.

Possible.  Though one dealer told me it is because the factory Sprinter conversions use a standard van to start with.  That comes with non opening windows.

The Fiat conversions, generally have all windows opening...

Maybe exhaust in different location like you say.
