Thanks for the warning, Bob

I had been east of Albany for a few weeks, and saw many eastern state number plates, who may not know the local roads.

I sincerely hope that I am wrong, but my gut feeling tells me that there is a firebug, in the South West, as there have been too many fires down there.

I got back to Bunbury on Friday morning

Took a northern route from Hopetown, through Ravensthorpe, Katanning, Wagin, Collie.
That area is fairly dry, with fairly high winds at times.

I would normally have gone through Albany, Bridgetown, Donnybrook, but early on in the week, there was a fire reported at Kirup, heading towards Donnybrook

For anyone who does not know the area around Bridgetown, there are plenty of trees, and it is fairly hilly in places, so not really a good place to contain a fire

So far I've been close to three fires here in the last week, one at Collie, also Wagin yesterday and not going to Greenbushes now.

I thought the same re- firebug Tony, but speaking to old neighbours they say it was a power pole that started it.

Pretty fierce though, golf club has gone, timber mill at Hesters Hill has gone according to locals.

Both Denmark and Bridgetown heavily wooded and hilly like you say. Years ago there was a big fire in Bridgetown, 3 ignition points were found, the bastard got away too.

Cheers Bob

I left Wagin Friday morning, and went west to Darkan, then home to Bunbury, through Collie

Next day saw a report of a fire north east of Wagin

There certainly are just too many fires

I washed my motorhome this morning, so with a bit of luck, we shall have some rain

I heard a saying that it rains in Denmark 364 days a year, & the other day it rains.

We have family at Bridgetown, on the outskirts, and they were ordered to evacuate at 8am this morning. The4y have just finished their house. They could not take all their animals, only managed to get 2 horses out.
