On face value everything looks right on the CF40, but its just not cooling. On 240V and 12V I get the same indications. I took the lower cover off to inspect the compressor area and wiring. Blew years of dust out of it. Fan was not working, so replaced it and thats fine, but still not cooling at all. Intermittently on power on I will get three flashes, but then it stops flashing. Controls all look normal. I am not sure if the compressor is working correctly. It is vibrating, but not sure if its actually running. Since this happened I have heard the normal rattle of the compressor trying to start as u do on a normal fridge, but now its just vibrating with no noise other than the fan spinning. I have jumpered C and T and get the same result. Thermistor measure 10K at room temp, and if disconnected from the board the fridge will turn off. Not sure where to go next. Any advice appreciated.
Three flashes could indicate a pressure differential within the system or a jammed rotor. A sound thump on the compressor may be enough to restart it. Give it a try.
I have seen reference in a few places to the rotor, what is it? Will give the compressor a love tap tomorrow. Thanks, will advise if it liked it or not!
Thanks for the pic. I can see that its a cut open view! Nothings easy. I gave the compressor a bit of a thump. I stopped the fan so I could get a feel for what the compressor is doing, and it is vibrating away, as if the internals were spinning but its just not getting cold. Regas?? Now it also will not turn on on 240v. I left it running overnight on 12v supply, and decided to test it today back on 240 after the love tap but now it doesnt turn on. Put it back on 12v and it is back its normally non cooling self. Not worried too much about the 240v side, just odd that it stopped working all of a sudden.

I cut it open to find out why the compressor wouldnt run. It was a poor connection where the 3phase star windings are joined together with a bridging link. If your fridge needs re gassing then its probably not worth repairing.
