Avan

I'm looking at buying an Avan the seller says the rubber needs replacing. He has the rubber but hasn't installed it. Is this a big job. I haven't viewed that Avan yet as it is 4hours away

It is a very awkward job, if you haven't got anyone to do it for you, and are not adgile enough then, you would have to pay someone to do it, but a caravan repairer should be able to reseal it. Maybe at a guess up to a grand to get it done.

Are you talking about foam rubber sealing strips?

No not a very hard job, worst bit is the Apex roof ridge seal. Even that I find is not all that hard.  But that bit might not need replacing ?

I have done my van twice over the years and helped others to replace their Roof/Wall Seals.

Do one strip at a time.  Remove and replace as you go. Noting/mark, where the ends are for when you put the new one on

Scrape old seals  off using a Sharp Scraper (or sharp wood chisel) and an adhesive remover. I actually just use WD40 and Meths (for Cleaning)

Use the meths and wire wool or a Green Scourer to clean the area before sticking the new seal on.

When satisfied do another one.

Take your Time.
