I have close friends who manage a caravan park in Nth Qld.
I was talking to them this morning and it has been set that the maximum stay for anyone in their park is 42 days. Apparently after that you need to move on and not return for a month.
Some parks may enter into a residential tenancies agreement but there are conditions with that as well.
I did not go into detail with them as this is of no concern to me but I can imagine that there will be a few upset *winter warriors * next season when they arrive and can only stay for 6 weeks.
It may not apply to all parks but I think that permanents and long termers are generally being discouraged.
Merriwa, was a town we went to buy a house, and we found a nice one that albiet needed a bit of work, but was in our price range. So as we were passing thru but staying local( in Singleton), we wanted to arrange a viewing, the Agent said no, then proceeded to tell us their friends were renting the place and they didn't want them to lose it, and if we were willing to rent it out to the current tenants then they would arrange a viewing. But we wanted to live in it, so the agent refused. They wouldn't even allow us to contact the owners, so we tried to go around them, to the council to find the owners, but the council worker wouldn't even help, because he was friends with the tenants as well, so we left and subsequently contacted the magazine where we saw the advertisement. The next month the house wasn't advertised, but I rang the real estate agent, to see if it was still for sale, and it was, but the new stipulation was that the tenants had to remain. So much for the friendly town we were told it was. I don't think anybody is friendly in that town at all. This happened 20 years ago, so it seems, it hasn't much changed.
