Anyone using the brass monkey duel zone fridge freezer from jaycar electronics very reasonable price with 3 years warranty I would like some feedback
Cheers
Hi John I bought a 65lt few months back tested it empty for 24 hours and then again filled with bottled water from the fridge from memory it used around 28amps empty and 24amps with the chilled water and the water in the freezer section was frozen buy the end of the 24 hours, mine is the 2 lid version, I have since taken it away for 4 days in cooler weather (not cold) and running 2 145w solar panels on a 120Ah AGM battery I never looked like having any issues, fridge was set to 2c and freezer to -10.
The reason I chose Brass monkey was it had a fairly good reports in some of the forums for a mid ranged outfit and I got it on special at around $150 off so quite a deal.
Something that Whenarewethere wrote about doing to his fridge was also of interest to me but only once the warranty has lapsed, also I would like to upgrade the lead to heavier cables, I'm sure the supplied 12/24v lead is far to light for a 3m length as far as being efficient.
Thanks Peatop Im glad you are happy with the fridge as I have bought the 75 litre duel zone and after trying to work out the control panel everything seems to work well. Previous fridge was an Ironman duel zone but this fridge seems to run less on the compressor and now have 3 120 agm as I was running on freezer and always running out of power when off grid.
I have a red arc dcfc charger and using a 185 watt solar Panal on top of my new rooftop tent the boat is having a rest
Cheers
