Personally l wouldn't bother with a chip

If you go a tune make sure it's someone with a good reputation

Hi John.Forget the chip.When I got my car tuned there was a 25% gain in power,45% gain in torque,and running at 6800kg GCM,legal on all axles,I now average 5.8km/litre.(or 16.3 miles per gallon).As you can see,my GCM is about 50kg more than you can achieve,so our weights are similar. When your insurance company asks what modifications you have made be
sure to tell them and pay the little extra that they are likely to ask for.

You will have peace of mind in the event of a "big one" and in the meantime.

Also, be sure that the mods prescribe to the pollution laws - big fines can
be levied if they don't and you get pinged.

Personally, I don't like the boost in power that you can obtain - sooner
or later the birds come home to roost. I have a very powerful car and
the option to flick a switch and add huge increases in both torque and hp.
But /I find that I do not use it, and in fact drive rather gently to save
both gas and wear.

Maybe I'm getting too old, but slow and steady now wins my race, and
I wouldn't want the responsibility if I was involved in a biggie and the
insurance/po lice men got inquisitive.

The boy racer expired about 10 years ago.
