friday 8/10,   i  went to  a  smoke  shop  in the morning  and a few  hrs later  to  a supermarket

lged in with the  qr code,

today  sat9/10  in the  arvo  i recieved  two  texts askng  :how  i  found my  experiance  (at each)

so  much for the goverment  sp called security . why could  you  belive a politian.

I rarely take the phone shopping, probably more because I walk, one less thing to carry. We are between to 4 shopping areas.

I just write name & mobile number on the list. There are a lot of people using the manual system when you glance over the check in times.

I have never received any text messages.

 I am in Queensland too. Always using my QR code at store entries. Most days go to some business. Attended stores yesterday and today.  Never received any messages as a follow up from my attendance.

 Are you certain that this is not Google linked Business sending the message on behalf of the business you visited.

Like ( Hi Yogi how was your experience visiting our Supermarket today.  ) Etc.

I do not, for one moment, believe the stores we QR code check in at have access to our phone numbers.

Yogi is is likely that the stores you visited utilised information obtained by the use of you credit/debit card. I am aware that users of VISA are contacted by Supermarkets relatively soon after purchases made at their store/s.

Was the Smoke shop at the Supermarket? Did you use your Store card ( flybuys or Rewards card )at the Supermarket?

It sounds like you are not using the states check in app. It sounds like you're using something that connects to a website that gets access to your data. 

 

I'd suggest that you install the states check in app.

Had no problem's here either Yogi. I have messages like that but only if I have used a store card or similar.

I think Buzz came up with the likely cause ...... using an app to scan the QR codes rather than the official government one. The advertising is how they make some money.


It would be good if Yogi were to come back and clarify. His profile shows he was online this morning.
