Hope I'm not going over old posts, but I was amazed to find this.
This is really heartwarming - pay taxes and work all your life and
at age 65 instead of being revered by society, we get dumped on from
a great height.
Don't get hurt by falling off the ladder or doing other dangerous chores
around the house!! If you become incapacitated - too bad. We don't care
for you any more.
6.1 Under 65 years of age
when their access request is received by the NDIA (section 22(1)(a)).
If a prospective participant is 65 years of age or older when the access request is made, the NDIA must decide that they do not meet the access criteria.
The requirement to be under 65 years of age to become a NDIS participant recognises that the NDIS is part of a broader system of support in Australia, with the intention that people over 65 should access the aged care system.

Also note that the "Retirement Age" has been lifted, and NDIS legislative restrictions have not been.
In NSW it is also quite an imposition that on any workers over the age of 65 becoming injured at work there in no obligation on Worker's Compensation Insurers to rehabilitate the worker, only meet immediate medical cost of the injury - the Employer can dismiss the Employee, that may be unable to work any further, in their chosen field.

If you are on NDIS, before you turn 65, you can remain on it, so long as you remain on the disability support pension. Have that info sent to me recently with my new annual plan.
Seen on youtube steady eddy (christopher widdows) just recently is having trouble getting the disability pension And he talks about the ndis. Worth a look. If steady is having trouble, god help the rest of us.
Yes, and if you work too hard and set up your complete independent self funded retirement, they not only discard you, they penalise you!!!
my wife is now in a Dementia care facility and I receive not a 'red cent' in government assistance so it costs me $5700 per month plus any extras!!! That is after it cost me $450,000 to buy the room, otherwise it would have cost $7200 per month!!!
the system is a joke as you lose no matter which way you go...meanwhile Politicians get all the 'rip offs' and retire on lifetime big fat pensions with 'benefits'. (&$#&)
I guess because you qualify for seniors health card ? They think that your covered ? To a point you are but I guess not the same as NDIS ? Like that joke about doing away with a politician ? ( know what I mean ?) Go to jail . You get the best medical ! Even gender changes !! Meals , roof over your head , 3 meals a day. Servants etc etc even onsuite ! Whos running the asylum?
Cant you be carer for your lovely wife ? Yes seems some get away all their lives ? When workers want assistance or help ? No way !! Sell your Cortina or Viva etc
I was told to stop working after a serious injury in 2001, in 2004 or 2005 I applied for the dsp after the medical examination by the centrelink doctor who said "his condition will improve" I was knocked back and told to go on sickness benefits after seeing the same centrelink doctor who said "his condition will not improve" I was knocked back, my responce to the centrelink service person was "same doctor, opposing answers, can I use this information to apply for the pension again?" NO! "as you have been unsuccessful in you previous application you can't apply again" after going back to work and being in and out of jobs (couldn't cope full time work for long periods) I decided to go back on newstart with a certificate applied to centrelink in 2010 and they said "no this doesn't suit your condition we will put you on dsp I know absolutely nothing about the ndis as I never wanted to rock the boat especially after the now federal government tried kicking me of the dsp a few years ago.
I had a review for DSP recently, I had been previously told I would never have to be reviewed. They made me jump thru hoops again, then sent me a Letter, to tell me "They have "ALLOWED" me to stay on DSP", As if they were doing me a favor. I was born with something , that degenerates my bones, and will not stop until I die which is approx 3 years from now ( average age of death for these sufferers), but they kept on asking "Am I cured yet?". You cannot be cured of something that gives you a chromosome count of 47xxy, at birth.

There are thousand of folks work for all these gummerment departments. I reckon that individually it is fair to say no one cares. I mean it ain't personal.
If it was personal; whey did some fool send me a letter asking me at my age of 65, when they were appraising me for the pension,
"How much money did you earn In Germany prior to coming to Australia."
Now these are the same guys that have had all the 28 pages of stuff that I had filled in, complete with all details.....I mean I was 4 years old when I came to Australia....
It's only going to get worse as this china virus takes it's toll of
society. Look out for the virus' and the subsequent debt being
used as an excuse to introduce taxes and penalties like:
Inheritance tax
Gift tax
Death duties
and anything else that they can think of.
Won't affect the elite - they have their assets in overseas lockers.
and the big corporations pay no tax.
"Eat, drink and be merry, (and get the tug out) for tomorrow we die"
NDIS is no different to any other taxpayer funded schemes,if YOU apply for it YOU will expect to be requested to jump through hoops to obtain it and sometimes be requested to jump through flaming hoops to retain it.Cheers.
