Mains water hose connection problem

Is it leaking at the o ring seal in the hose fitting or the plastic connection bush? - usually 1 1/4 American thread.

Not sure if this may help, I had 2 different connectors in my tool box and although they look the same I found that one did not seat properly and leaked, also changed the inlet connector rubber seal. I have attached a picture FYI.

New fittings required on hose and on van.Perhaps a pressure reducer at the tap

We NEVER connect to mains water.
Any slight leak in the pressure control valve and the van plumbing is subjected to pressures way above that which they are designed for.
That can be very expensive. The HWS is a likely casualty sooner or later.
Just fill the tanks as you need it and use the van pump.

Never use plumbers tape on hose fittings and taps. The easier they screw up to the rubber washer the better and easier seal.

I do not know what brand of caravan you have

My Jayco Conquest motorhome has an American female thread, and I will assume that all Jayco caravans, will have the same thread

The pic below is what I used, (purchased from Bunnings), I have circled the item number, and the isle it is in

If you can let us know, if this worked or not, it may help others in the future

Sorry I haven't seen your problem until now. I too had the same problem & tried everything except replacing the van!

Fixed it by replacing the filler piece - they are readily available from caravan parts suppliers, easy to remove, replace. The one I took out looked almost as good as the one I put in but ...... it worked!

Don't you just hate it.I do. I am sick of cleaning tape off tap threads that some DH has put on to stop leaks. When will they realise that a new washer in the screw on fitting is all that is needed.

i had the same problem and the simple solution as described above it to get the correct fitting.
I ended up getting
3 x British and 3 x Murcan fittings from bunnings. returned the British ones.

dont use tape, ever!
