Tow ball tongue question

Could the experts here just let me know if it's OK for me to use this up the other way. The reason I ask is that my 2.5t van isn't quite level.. biggrin

Thanks in advance.

You probably could, just a couple of coats of British Paints to stop the wet weather, and a rated retainer bolt.

Be carefull , iv'e heard from ( them that chrome towballs fatigue and fail easily)

May pay you to get a towball made with the same material to reduce Galvanic corrosion .

Also very very important to get white ant treatment.

I agree. Should have bought one made from treated timber. Those northern whiteants will fly out of the ground trying to get into that.

Looks to be pine? If so,you could consider using a Hardwood substitute which will be stronger.Inverting the shank will minimise the risk of splitting down the middle, giving added strength.Alternatively, you might like to put another 30lb in your car's rear tyres, and deflate the front tyres to 20lb, as both these actions will tend to raise the towball height, perhaps to the level you seek? TBO (towball overhang,or distance from rear axle to hitch point) and wheelbase will also influence your results.Cheers

P.S The owner of this van must have a huge car,or at least a towbar with a big riser.
