Places to stay in Litchfield and Kakadu

Probably difficult anywhere north right now, but main Caravan Park in Litchfield (name forgotten) is really good and you can swim at most places in there, not so in Kakadu, which I personally don't like.

Hi we stayed at Banyan tree caravan park for our Litchfield leg and Cooinda caravan park at Kakadu ..... loved both areas , can't wait to get back up north :)
If you need some hints for possible places to stay over on the way etc only to happy to give suggestions, pm if you like

We drove from Sydney via Bourke up to Kakadu then on to Kununarra in 2018 & back home via Eyre Highway. There are plenty of free camping spots like old & surprising good over grown gravel pits, much better than a caravan park, just have to keep your eyes open & start looking from 2pm.

We are in Kakadu now. we are near the end of our second week here. It is busy but OK.
There are dozens of camping grounds in Kakadu. They are either free, $3 or $6 or $15 per adult per night depending on facilities offered. Some are via corrugated roads.
You need to get onto their web site and do some basic research.

Left Kununurra today after 4 days there. We sayed in the Discovery Park on the lake. It was full every night except for one or two sites. Tonight is Victoria River Roadhouse busy but sites available andat $30 a night for two with power a bargin compared to the $70 a night in Kununurra. Generally the cparks & free camps in WA are very busy but the hot spots like Broome are overflowing. I think it must be the Bali substitute for those folk from WA.
