AVan Cruseliner Tyre pressure

Hi

My son in law just purchased a second hand Avan  cruiseliner.

Can not find out what the tyre pressure should be.

Any member know the tyre pressure without weighing the van and doing the calculations

Laurie

Tyre pressure is engraved on the compliance plate on my Van.

Hi Laurie,
The other place to look is on the tyres - they show the load at a certain pressure.
My van's compliance plate says 250kpa (36 psi), the tyres are rated to 52psi - I run them at 46psi (cold) - they rise 4psi when hot (correct pressure).

You should be able to find several discussions on this forum about pressures & the 4psi rule.

When I had the Eagle camper, I ran those tyres at about 40psi, reducing to 36 on roads like the Birdsville Track (in fair to good condition). Our least trip up that road saw us having no troubles but unlike others, I had good rubber all round.
One "disaster" we met was determined to get his 80,000kms out of his Coopers - his tyres were low in tread, his car & campertrailer were severely overloaded. Fortunately we left Marree before they did - we found out from other travellers that this bloke's jack wouldn't lift his car!!

Unfortunately the pressure will be whatever it is based on load on them (even just using ATM rather than weighing), the tyre load and rating, manufacturers recommended pressure at maximum load, and usage, all requiring some calculation to get right and ensure the tyres last and operate safely.

Anything other than that is a guess and may or may not be best for your sons usage.
