CIL Insurance

I have just received my CIL Insurance Renewal Yesterday.

WOW 78% increase from Last Year for a $15000 decrease from Lasts Years Sum Insured.

They tried that on me, went elsewhere. Insurance companies do it all the time.

Usual disclaimer, that I am not associated with anyone, selling anything

I always advise everyone to read the Insurance PDS, to make sure the Insurance is suitable for their situation

Would be good to see the numbers from CIL, in regards that it increased by 78%, or is this a typo

I have just paid my renewal today, and it is actually approximately 5% less for both payment, and agreed value, on my old motorhome

I have been with CIL since about 2015 and had two claims, for a new annex, and new front windscreen

I have a 65% no claim bonus, perhaps that may make a difference

I rang CIL to discuss the 78% increase on my Policy.

They found it hard to believe as well, but I was told I was given an incorrect Quote last year as my Policy had to go through an Underwriter, Because of the Sum Insured was over their limit, but never did.

So in fact this price is what it should have been from day one.

So I feel better to know that it was not just a Hike in Price.

Rick-N-Lesleigh, I've got a "Harbour Bridge" for sale cheap - if you believe that story. Contact a broker and tell him last years premium - I bet he can get a better deal.

Dropped CIL after 1st year for same reason. Now with NRMA, far better deal.

We also had our caravan insured through CIL but to save some $$ we changed it over to the NRMA as we had 4 other policies with them and had been members of that organsation for 40 odd years. The first claim I made on the van was knocked back even after their own assessor told me that his report was just a formality and from what he had seen it would be approved without a problem. Needless to say although we are still members of the NRMA road service (which is a different entity) all of our insurance policies including the current caravan are now with someone else. We are expecting our new van to be delivered in November and will probably insure it with someone who specialises in caravan insurance like CIL even if it costs us a bit more..

I just renewed my CIL van insurance 2 weeks ago, it was $14 cheaper than last year , but as you do, I rang around, rang YOUi insurance, they quote $1,245 MORE than CIL, fair dinky, plus YOUi go on how many hook ups you travel, just crazy system. so stick with CIL
