We like Girraween National Park - if only for the hot showers, picnic tables, number of rangers in attendance in the camping area - which is 1000% better than anywhere else in Qld. But gee. it's cold in winter!
The Yellow-Tufted Honeyeater (birdlife.org.au/bird-profile/yellow-tufted-honeyeater) is quite common there.

thanks for the link on the Honeyeater, always looking to learn more bird species for when I am out and about
Well yesterday with nothing better to do set of from Marburg to explore to the south sort of.
Primary goal was to have lunch at the Rosevale Hotel, 24 years since we were there last but it is closed, almost a ruin from it's former glory. Bummer it had so much history.
Harrisville Hotel was the next choice and did not fail to impress, we are going to hook up the caravan and stay over there during the week sometime in the future.
Rosewood was a inviting village with a lot going for it, train station, retirement villages, basic shops with showground camping.
Tallegalla which we had never head of before was a terrific find seating on a ridge with awesome views of the Border Rangers to the south and the Great Devide to the north not that far from Marburg.
Scott, great photo's but the one of the water at Cootharaba reminds me of emptying the cassette - certainly not what I would camp at - I don't mind muddy or dirty water but the colour of that water is worrying.

thanks, the water is actually really nice, its that colour for a few reasons, water flow from the creeks & rivers, trees that live in and around the water, the plantlife underwater etc as well, its an epic place to go really and up at Habitat it is really quiet, the last 2 km of the road is dirt but its really well looked after so there is all wheel drive access up there
Woodford showgrounds, maleny showgrounds shops, buskers, markets, check whats on, kenilworth showgrounds cheese factory, widgee showgrounds, great meals friday n saturday night when we were there, tin can bay for dolphin feeding. Enjoy,
