I was looking at an advertisement for a product called "Hosebags". It seems to take all the grief out of rolling up the water and sullage hoses and also there is one for the electric cable.

Has anyone used this product and if so, is it what they say? I usually just roll up the hoses and put them into a shopping bag but on these colder, wet mornings they seem to go sproing and I wear what was in them.

Hi yes I use 3 of them and they are great and keeps them tidy. I use 2 water hoses and 1 sullage hose. Can also fit all the hose fitting in the middle and the hoses don't kink. Ride nicely stacked in the front boot. Cheers Stewart

Can't help with the Hosebags (although they look good). I use velcro ties to keep my hoses and cables in check:

How good they are depends on how patient you are. I bought them and find them a pain in the bum. You have to feed the hose in the hole and turn the bag at the same time, very fiddly. I use the new style of supermarket bags now (heavier material than the old disposables) and they work a treat.

I watched the video on the internet and it all looked so easy. When the person started spruiking about feeding the hose in with one hand and turning the other my first thoughts were that it was not as easy as it looked.

I have used mine for years and find them easy to use once one gets the hang of it. Have one for water hose and one for sullage.

Doesn't it all depend on your hose? Some hoses are like tempered fence wire. Others are nice and soft. I like the idea of those coiled hoses. The ones like air hoses.

I have three. One for the electric cable, one for the grey water hose and one for the fresh water hose. I find that they keep things nice and tidy but it does take a tiny bit longer to feed in the object.

You could also use them as storage for your WDH when the hose is connected to van, mate. Everything must have two uses.

I recently bought a couple on EBay from rodestelle for $36. They are described thus New Hosetamer Hose Bag Pack of 2 - 1 Regular, 1 Sullage Caravan Camping RV and they are made in Echuca which is in AUST (not China). Never had them before but I reckon they are real beaut.

No Doug. You use the WDH to stop the hose freezing. Don't you remember. I could use two of them for bed socks and the third for a beanie on cold nights.

I am a one bag man, for the one inch currugated black sullage hose. Which I cut into 1 long 1 short bit. Yes you need to feed and turn, easy to do, tidy clean result. Water hose gets the velcro strap and electric cord is looped, tied and hooked up.

The are very handy to keep hoses from tangling up

Sister-in-law, made some for us, using shadecloth, then wife made some more

I use them all the time, for potable water hose/sullage hose/240 volt extension leads

We use a flat out fresh water hose and a flat out grey water hose such as shown in the photo below. They both are easy to wind onto the plastic reel and are very compact.

I must have posted this photo of my water & sullage hoses solution dozens of times.

It may not suit all vans but is perfect for mine.

I have seen some where shorter lengths are held in storm water pipes fixed across the van behind the rear wheel.

 

Because they are stored in straight pipes they never develop coils.  I wipe them clean as I thread them into the carriers.

 

edit  .. the end piece is a modified 'Plumbdinger.
