Hi, You may be able to get an update from the Collinsville Visitor Information Centre. Also try the Bowen Visitor Information Centre.
When I enquired a couple of weeks ago, the Bowen Information Centre person said there was a section after Collinsville that 'they are working on'.
FYI: Latest word from QLD roads is that sealing sections between Mt. Coolon-Collinsville will be completed August this year. There are NO plans to seal Belyando Crossing-Mt.Coolon in the forseeable future.
By measuring on Google maps, that leaves about 51 of the 260 km still gravel.
And,believe me,that last strip is BAD news.Last week I stopped at Mt Coolon, after coming down the Suttor Development road, and I was advised that it would take "at least 1 1/2 hours" to reach Belyando. And so it was! After having just replaced all my van springs after destroying a spring pack on the Suttor Development Road,I was being a bit cautious,as I didn't want to have to make another 2500km return trip to Brisbane to buy more springs! That was a 32 hour trip,so I was a bit tired! The road is NOT good, with miles of corrugations limiting speeds to around 40km/hr,and I regularly had to stop as road trains approached, with the resulting dust clouds taking several minutes to clear enough to enable me to see the road again. There is a big construction camp set up at Mt Coolon to house all the RoadTek staff, and others involved in the Collinsville project, with many road trains parked around the camp.Cheers

Spent a while in Bowen a couple of years ago, before Covid.
Many vehicles limped into town with spring and tyre and other damage.
I was talking to a grader operator out there on the bit that is about to be sealed and he strongly advised not to go to through to Beleyando unless you are in a heavy vehicle (truck).
This was confirmed by a couple of truckies that I met while I was there
There report was of gibba rocks that would break a mans heart.
It will be sealed one day but not in the near future, apparently.
