I have a "Maxview" 80cm dish on the roof (not automatic) but wind up. Connected to "Satking" box running "VAST"

If remote camping any large trees blocking direct view make finding the Optus 1 satellite hard, however in open ground with unrestricted views I have found it to be terrific.

My only caution would be very strong winds as the dish does move a bit, because at 80cm they can catch a lot of breeze. This can cause signal interruption.

We mainly use it to catch up on the news and current affairs, and of course ABC country radio.

Hi Stephen....Whilst I do not have any experience with the Satking Orbit,I do have a Satking Promax,which is brilliant.Fully automatic....stop car, open van,press the button,and grab a beer.Within a short time it is ready to go,with a choice of,I think,114 stations! If you forget to lower it before moving off,it automatically lowers itself once you've reached 20km/hr.Takes up very little room,and out of the way.Only once have I had no TV access,parked up in dense bush,with heavy rain and lightning etc. Both Satking and Vast are very easy to communicate with if there are any issues while learning to operate it. I also carry another extendable aerial that apparently can be used when handy to towns etc,but it has never been set up.Cheers

Thanks for the reply, I already have a vast box with a portable dish, I am over setting it all up each time I just want to get on with other things like relaxing..I will check out UTube but thought I would ask the question.

I just bought the Satking Promax and installed it myself . Only reason for the promax was not much room on my roof , too many solar panels. Easy installation , directions easy to follow , works perfectly. Cheers Mick

Same here...just finished installing the Promax and Vast box. I've got it working well already, but I've also just ordered a 2nd Foxtel box and that will be installed too. We watch more Foxtel than Free-To-Air here at home, so will probably be the same when we're away.

Have had to order in some extra gear (namely a 2-in...4-out splitter) so we can choose between the 2 boxes.

I've avoided getting sat TV for a long time because I couldn't be bothered fiddling with dishes and trying to find the right direction etc. As you say, the Promax is just so easy.
