There was recently a post about lack of information about gvm and gcm upgrades on dmax by Isuzu dealer.
I spoke to a dealer today at Isuzu Cardiff nsw and he informed me they can be done in the pre rego which will give a national certificate if the vehicle is sod interstate. Because of the new model only pedders is used to give a gvm of an extra 300 kgs which would be a waste of time and money.
lovells and others should have there upgrades ready by mid 2021 and as far as I know lovells are still the only company to give a gcm and gvm upgrade together whether its 7.0 and 3.6 remains to be seen

Hi John...These cars have only an 1870kg rear axle,which is their weak point.However,even a 300kg increase in GVM would be helpful,as it would no doubt include an increase in rear axle capacity carrying capacity.The front axle doesn't matter,as you will never be able to get weight onto it anyway, because a 300kg towball weight takes around 140kg off that axle,and transfers it to the car's rear axle.This weight can never be returned.Assuming the new GVM is 3250kg,the best you'll do is reach a weight on wheels of around 3100kg,which obviously includes towball weight of van.Because we still have GCM rating of 6000kg,the weight on van wheels (GTM?) can be up to 2900kg.(6000kg minus 3100kg weight on car's wheels).Thus,it can be seen that the new rating allows the car to safely tow a van with an ATM rating of around 3200kg.(300kg towball weight plus 2900kg GTM).The weight on wheels of car is thus 10% more than the weight on the van's wheels,and a lot safer than living in dream land,and trying to safely tow 3500kg as a PIG trailer.Obviously,the buyer of the car would need to decide if the increase in GVM justifies the cost of the upgrade.Cheers.

Yes very true Yobarr you probably know but the rear axle is 2150 and front is 100 more than stock standard when fitted by lovells
