Confusion at the Kununurra WA/NT border

Some people who had/have a G2G pass, are not being allowed to cross the border into WA at the Kununurra border checkpoint

I do not know exactly what the problem is

I am just putting it out there, (as a WA part time traveller), to other travellers, to check and double check, that you are allowed to cross the border

Thanks Tony..I had noticed that nobody had even acknowledged your posting of this useful piece of information.Lord only knows what makes these upholders of the law decide to deny entry to those who have all the necessary documentation, and I can't begin to understand the anguish of those people who had obtained all the  necessary paperwork, had sold everything, travelled 3000km to the border, and then were turned away.Again, thanks for bringing this to our attention.Cheers

When we got our G2G pass and went through the check point just before Kununurra, (with no problems), we had to have proof of a quarantine stay, paid for, before we could enter. I think the whole story is not being told, and the persons have not done their homework properly.

Spot on iana, And all reported by an ABC Journo, so no doubt lacking in all the facts.

Thanks for the mention in despatches, Yobarr

There has now been another change, as from 14 November (but this could change before this date), the hard WA border will be lifted

But...
There are still plenty of restrictions, of where you have come from, plus it appears to be different between air, and land travellers

I listened to the WA Premier video, which is within the live update link below

I then went to look at various media outlets, for a text copy, and unfortunately they were giving slightly different versions

I can therefore only repeat my warning, of what I would now call, the future WA controlled border crossing

If you are coming to WA by vehicle, check and double check, as you will still need to have your G2G pass, checked at the border
